Summertime in Kentucky! It is
beautiful here. Lush green fields for the animals, soy beans in
our fields and an amazing corn crop growing next door. It was 8
feet tall by the forth of July. Here are some of our 2009 models.
We have a wonderful crop of Double Trouble babies on the ground.
They all look like DT! Five so far with a few more due in the fall.
Check back for more pictures.
Shawn just doesn't know how to say no!
Meet our new donkeys, Jack and Jenny. Jack has a lot to say.
When he decides to bray in the barn, it echoes all the way to the
mailbox! The two Great Pyrenees puppies were given to me from our
new friend Tim Auck of Serenity Alpacas. The two girls were born
January 10, 2009 and are sweet. Isabella is outgoing and Roxanne
is a bit shy. She is slowly coming out of her shell.
2009 Spring Time in Kentucky
The pear and maple trees lining the driveway
were in full bloom late March. It is so nice to have beautiful
lush pastures!
2008 New Home in Kentucky
We moved to Springfield Kentucky late
September 2008. We love our new farm and the beautiful views. On
our way through Lexington, we saw a school bus - it had a horse in the
back!
2008 Shearing Extravaganza
This year we had 28 alpacas and 3 llamas to
shear. All went smoothly because of the people who gave their time
to help us. Special thanks to James Harkerss for being
anal a perfectionist in shearing our babies and Taylor for
being a good soldier. We also want to thank our Gorham High School
friends, teachers Deb Gaudette, Kathy Wallace and students Ilene and
Becky, for all of their effort and hard work in making sure that we had
accurate shearing weights and micron samples on everyone. We are
blessed to have such people in our life!
2008 Spring Shows
Wow! We had a great spring at the
shows! Our sincere appreciation to Molly Stimpson of Second Wind
Farm and our friends from the Gorham High School, teachers Deb Gaudette,
Kathy Wallace (and husband David!) and students Ilene and Becky.
With their help at the North American Alpaca Show, Sunshine Alpacas was
able to keep on track and win a gazillion ribbons!
